Infinity War marks the 10th anniversary for Marvel Studios' MCU, as well as the point that the entire interconnected mega-franchise has been building to since 2012's The Avengers.
It might be rough for the average moviegoer to stomach, as the MCU has generally shied away from such consequential events. That's also just slightly above the franchise average of 83.8% too.
He added: "Infinity War will effectively reverse the down trending box office we've seen so far this year and get the industry on track setting the stage for what could be a big summer". Also back for more action are Black Panther, the Hulk, Spider-Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy and their assorted allies.
Considering Marvel has already greenlit other projects featuring some of the characters in the film, it's almost assured that some amount of retcon will be done to ensure certain characters live.
Despite missing out on a country with a population of 1.4 billion people, it still managed to have the 2nd biggest worldwide opening of all time, which is obviously quite some going.
Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, told HeyUGuys.com that they didn't know what was real or not until talking with the directors.
Rounding out the weekend is another Marvel title, "Black Panther".
The movies such as Iron Man, Thor, and Balck Panther have brought in roughly $15.3 billion globally. All around fantastic movie.
Once again Marvel pulled it off. For now, though, it's the movie to beat.
