Tillerson ousted: Here are the recent high-level White House departures

Current Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will be replaced by CIA Director Mike Pompeo, and the CIA's current Deputy Director, Gina Haspel will step up to replace Pompeo. For technical purposes, Tillerson said he would remain the secretary of state till March 31 and till then he would delegate his responsibilities to the Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.

Tillerson, it should be recalled, was recommended for the job by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who served under President George W. Bush.

Trump has often criticized the 2015 nuclear deal, which Iran signed, promising to halt its nuclear program in return for the lifting of international sanctions.

A White House official said Trump wanted to have a new team in place ahead of upcoming talks with North Korea and various trade talks.

Tillerson's departure represents the biggest staff change in the Trump Cabinet so far and caps months of tensions between the Republican president and the 65-year-old former Exxon Mobil chief executive.

Mallott has been the state's lead figure in negotiations among Alaska, the U.S., British Columbia and the Canadian federal government as Alaska grapples with issues related to new mines being constructed in the watersheds of rivers that flow into Alaska. He needs to be challenged, whether he likes it or not, and he needs to be faced with rigorous questions about what the US wants to achieve from a sit-down with Kim Jong-un.

He also openly wondered how Haspel, once in charge of a notorious CIA "black site" where suspects were waterboarded, could be considered to run the agency.

"I'm going to do everything I can to block them", said Paul. The White House had said in a statement that the dialogue "will elevate their (the two countries') strategic consultations". "He is always in a state of high energy and intelligence".

Trump, in the midst of a five-country tour of Asia, grew concerned the untouched greens would offend the Chinese, according to people familiar with the matter. And if he is present for a vote, McCain might reject Haspel, the senator noted on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Haspel's close link with the use of torture of detainees, Miller says, will make for tough questioning at her Senate confirmation hearing.

- The leadership of the US intelligence is not necessarily a negative factor for the US foreign policy relations. "That was part of my role as the undersecretary".
