Novak Djokovic suffers 'weird' loss to qualifier at Indian Wells
Djokovic was stunned by world no. 109 Taro Daniel of Japan in three sets - 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-1 at Indian Wells. Federer entered the tournament as the newly crowned World Number 1 and has enjoyed a stunning 12-0 record this season with victories in Australia and Rotterdam. Federer hit a running forehand passing shot to break at love and take the set 6-2.
The Melbourne event was Djokovic's first since Wimbledon last summer, as he was sidelined due to the elbow ailment that ultimately led to the operation.
With Nadal, Djokovic nursing their injury-prone careers, it looks like Federer is here to reign in the top spot for quite some while. But his elbow problems certainly appear to be the much bigger concern. The 30-year-old committed 61 unforced errors in the two-and-a-half hour match. He's not dropping sets let alone a match these days. But we have to keep working and have the right tactic. He simply has too many weapons for Krajinovic and it's hard to see how the Serbian can consistently cause Federer problems.
His opening match on Saturday night against Federico Delbonis carried over into Sunday afternoon after heavy rains forced a postponement of several night matches.
"You keep doing it, doing it but then you have to be careful you don't get too cute with it". Those 28 wins, coupled with 36 losses, are the sum total of his Tour-level experience, and the final in Bercy was the only one he has competed in at Tour-level. He lost to Chung Hyeon in the Australian Open fourth round in January before undergoing the surgery. The world No. 25 had been scheduled to face Argentina's Leonardo Mayer in a second-round match. The most recent meeting was in the 2015 Monte Carlo Masters, a match won in straight sets. In the victory, Federer won 89 percent of his first serve points and 57 percent of his second serve points. The duo are arguably one of the greatest rivalries tennis has witnessed, but despite battling each other for over a decade they remain good friends away from the game. American Sloane Stephens, the 13th seed in the women's draw, was scheduled to play two-time BNP Paribas Open champion Victoria Azarenka following the Federer-Delbonis match in Stadium 1.
Paris Saint-Germain Tempt Antonio Conte With Transfer Assurances
With the score 7-0, Cavani could have passed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the PSG all time leading goal scorer if given the opportunity. The lack of weekly competition - let alone a season-long threat - in Ligue 1 directly impacts PSG's Champions League prospects.
Sanctions on North to stay, too early to be optimistic, says Moon
The unidentified officials said a simultaneous computer simulated drill known as Key Resolve would be held from mid to late April. The sixth round of the talks open in February 2007 and North Korea promises to shut its nuclear reactor in exchange for fuel oil.
