Kim Yo Jong's visit to South Korea was the first time that a member of North Korea's ruling family has visited since the Korean War, which ended in 1953. For historians of the Olympics, South Korea is a special chapter, for it validates the great claims made about the power of sport to narrow the gap between adversaries in a win-win manner. The two-time world champion is a favourite at Pyeongchang.

South Korea's president has received an invitation to visit the North - an offer that came from the younger sister of the North's dictator.

Kim Yo Jong also attended Saturday's hockey match. "She is the person he trusts more than anyone else in the regime", said Ken Gause, North Korean leadership expert.

"We will not allow North Korean propaganda to hijack the message and imagery of the Olympic Games", Pence said. Yet the leaders are so foreign.

One minute Lee Yun-hwa was full of excitement, shouting her order in a tiny Gangneung pub for a plate of grilled intestines and a round of beer.

"Maybe they get to the record or maybe they're right around there similar to the way they were in Sochi".

During the opening ceremony Friday, North and South Korean athletes marched together under a unified Korean banner, as they have done at 10 previous sporting events. Instead of eating with Moon and the other dignitaries, Pence ate with the American athletes.

But South Korean papers marvelled at Kim Yo Jong's "humbleness". We are currently investigating the cause of the issue.

It is rare for the North's official media to refer to the South's leader as president, usually describing them as chief executive or similar, and even more unusual for a picture of them to be shown. The U.S. has been somewhat blindsided by the peace overture from the newly elected South Korean President, and joint military exercises have been postponed till after the Games, including the Paralympics that will conclude in mid-March. No detail was too trivial to be noticed, commented on.

Look at her posture, the commentators said.

Diplomacy and politics aside, the vice president's appearance at the Olympics was also personal. That's a dip of about 8.6 percent from the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014, which brought in a 18.5 rating.

"The whole world's watching". Not the crowd, not the players, and not their Swiss opponents.

The discussions from Saturday's meeting weren't immediately released.

But everyone was politically correct afterward. Looks like athletes walking into an empty stadium and waving to empty seats!

"Due to impromptu logistical changes it (drone deployment) did not proceed", the IOC spokesman said with elaborating further. This is one of the strangest things I've ever watched. So there was a 9 percent dip.

The sister of North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, shook hands with South Korean President Moon Jae-in - and appeared genuinely pleased - while they watched an elaborate show of light, sound and human performance. Otto Warmbier was arrested in North Korea and died last year after returning to the U.S.

His worries were well founded.

"The distance between Pyongyang and Seoul has become closer in our hearts", Kim Yo Jong wrote. If peace isn't imminent, a summit in Pyongyang between Moon and Kim Jong Un seems preferable to recent months' threats. Back at the athlete's village, they bunk with their respective countries. "She is acting as a goodwill ambassador for a country that has earned no goodwill".
