He tried issuing an apology to the president, but it apparently wasn't enough - especially for his former finaceer, Rebekah Mercer.

"I think it's totally legitimate to ask about that and to have that as part of the examination", said Julian Zelizer, a professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University and a CNN contributor.

In the book entitled "Fire and Fury", Bannon uses the word "treasonous" to describe a meeting between Trump campaign officials - including Donald Trump Junior - and a group of Russians.

His comments led President Trump to say Bannon had "lost his mind".

This is a breaking news and developing story. Moore thoroughly bested Trump's favored candidate, Luther Strange, in the primary, but Moore was then beset by allegations that he had pursued and in two cases assaulted teenage girls when he was in his 30s.

Steve Bannon is leaving Breitbart News Network in the wake of negative comments about President Donald Trump and his family attributed to Bannon in an explosive new book.

Bannon had served as Breitbart's executive chairman since 2012.

The president also received some support from overseas. "What I make of him is somebody who's taking decisions on what he believes is in the best interests in the United States".

According to some of these testimonies, the figure of the president is viewed with scorn by his surroundings, even his own daughter. In fact, the election win seemed to advance a theory that Trump's success proved he was only pretending to be unhinged, when instead he was engaged in high-level strategy. The New York Times was first to report the news.
