Animated Mario movie coming from Nintendo and Illumination

Nintendo of America tweeted. Further details shared in 2016 specified Nintendo-themed areas in Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort, and Universal Studios Hollywood filled with interactive attractions, shops, and restaurants based on Nintendo's beloved characters and games.

Nintendo has confirmed the long-running rumour that it's working on an animated Mario movie with Illumination.

Nintendo is trying to use its popular titles to make more money outside of traditional video games. It's going live this September for $19.99 a year, and will be similar to X-Box Live and Playstation Plus.

Nintendo will finally be putting Mario into the big screen after the disastrous early '90s film.

Miyamoto is, of course, the brains behind the original Super Mario Bros. game, and Nintendo's chief creative. Throughout the years we have seen companies stick to their conventional business models and find themselves cripple down to nothing. The list includes the New Regency's live-action "Assassin's Creed", Legendary's "Warcraft" and Sony's "Angry Birds". Rumor had it that the partner would be Illumination Entertainment, and the rumor mill was right.

Mario is getting together with the Minions.

The series of announcements come on the heels of Nintendo's impressive sale of its Switch consoles.

Illumination was in discussions with Nintendo for more than a year about making a Mario film, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Nintendo has already introduced Mario to the world of mobile gaming. If a movie strays too far from its source material, it's another Super Mario Bros.

Miyamoto created the character for the arcade game Donkey Kong, released on July 9, 1981. Meledandri owns Illumination Entertainment together with Universal Studios. To be the composer would be fantastic.
