Whitcomb on Wolff's White House Book & Marijuana Laws — LIVE

Steve Bannon

These tweets of Trump defending his mental stability come after the President and some his top officials spent the last few days defending the claims made by author Michael Wolff in his new book, "Fire and Fury", which speaks about the President's mental fitness to serve as a President.

Readers are claiming they don't even need to open the latest book about the Trump White House for the purchase to be worth the $15. This, he noted, led him to become president on the very first try, which may qualify as "genius", most "stable genius" at that, he said.

Trump released a formal statement railing against his former chief White House strategist, Steve Bannon, insisting Bannon had little to do with his victorious campaign and "has nothing to do with me or my Presidency". The president saw to that when he threatened to sue the author and publisher, which only encouraged them to push up the publication date by four days, from Tuesday of next week to Friday.

Bannon, according to the book, called Ivanka Trump " dumb as a brick " and unleashed on Kushner and Trump Jr. over their Russia-related activities. "And even for a chronically - he would say helplessly - unfaithful husband, this was one promise to his wife that he seemed sure to keep". He echoed the reaction of Trump, who tweeted on Thursday that the book was "full of lies, misrepresentations and sources and that don't exist".

Controversies, as well as passions, run high as journalist Michael Wolff's hyped biography on Trump, Fire and Fury, has hit the shelves at an extraordinary pace ahead of the projected launch date. With Trump, however, anytime a negative comment is published about him it's labeled fake. Would the two people in the back of the room who have not used these words to describe the president please raise your hand? Cohn was also a mentor to young Trump.

Some Trump associates believed that Trump scoffing at Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election was "a perfect example of his inability to connect the dots".

"Because of what they said?" Let's remember, this man does not read, does not listen.

"This shouldn't be dignified with a response", said Kellyanne Conway, the White House counselor.

"He said he interviewed me for three hours in the White House".

"I've never questioned his mental fitness", he told in an interview to an American news channel. It is time for Congress to talk about the 25th Amendment. "This is how you do it." he said.

However Wolff said on NBC he "absolutely" spoke to President Trump.

He said that since Trump has been president, the value of stock market has increased by $6 trillion, "real wages are through the roof, people have more money in their 401-Ks, consumer confidence is through the roof and the economy is booming because of the reduction in regulations that this president has done".

Saturday morning, Trump took aim at the book's claims that he was mentally unfit for office.

Around the same time, Wolff also wrote a prescient Newsweek column about how the still-new and struggling Trump White House and the media might reach a balance or détente. He pressed the case again on Sunday as he prepared to depart Camp David for the White House.

"I went to the best colleges, or college, I had a situation where I was a very excellent student".

"The partisans on Capitol Hill consulting with psychologists should reorient their spare time: support the president's positive agenda of middle class tax cuts, rebuilding infrastructure and the military, investing in our work force", Ms. Conway said later in an email.

Mr Tillerson dismissed suggestions that his stint as top US diplomat is coming to an end, amid reports of a rocky relationship with Mr Trump.

New power players in the West Wing may not yet be household names, but they will likely help shape the fortunes of Trump's 2018.

Tim Hayes, director of the Blue Earth County Library, said the anticipation surrounding the book was unlike anything he'd seen in the past.
