What the heck does Steve Bannon do now?

The Mercers not only own a minority stake in Breitbart, they also have invested in political data firm Cambridge Analytica, where Bannon was a board member, and the Government Accountability Institute, an investigative nonprofit organization co-founded by Bannon.

Wolff told "Today" on Friday that he "absolutely spoke to the president" while working on the book. In some cases, he said the reader would be allowed to judge the versions told to him.

US president Donald Trump renewed his attacks on author Michael Wolff at a news conference on Saturday, denouncing his book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, as a "work of fiction".

If Trump is as obtuse as his many critics and even some supporters seem to think, then how did he outsmart a huge field of experienced and well-funded candidates, including the inheritors of the Bush and Clinton political dynasties?

Green: In the near term, Bannon does (and is doing) what everybody who wants to influence and ingratiate themselves to Trump does: Flatter him with obsequious praise.

"You never see it, you never know it, because you don't need to". Barnes and Noble said the book was "temporarily out of stock" on its website, reported CBS News. "I have no reason to question his mental fitness", Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said yesterday when asked about Trump's mental fitness. As if Trump is some kind of Chauncey Gardner who's not even aware he's president.

Trump has lashed out at Bannon over a new book that quotes his former aide questioning the president's competence.

Former Republican U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, who is running to regain his old seat representing the 11th Congressional District (Bay Ridge-Southwest Brooklyn-Staten Island), is distancing himself from former chief White House adviser Steve Bannon. That included Bannon, who was fired in mid-August, representing the right-wing populists at odds with the Republican establishment.

This didn't quite happen on day one, but the Trump administration announced the move in December.

Surrounded by senior Republicans at an unscheduled press conference at Camp David, Trump denounced Mr Wolff as a "fraud" and suggested that the libel laws in the US were in some way to blame for the book.

In the past 24 hours, Trump has not only released a scathing statement suggesting his former chief strategist has "lost his mind", he also took the extraordinary step of sending Bannon a cease-and-desist letter that threatened "imminent" litigation.

"Now, Sloppy Steve is Trump's new nickname for Steve Bannon, and I have to admit, it's a good one", the comedian said on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Friday night.

"He used Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job".

Addressing Bannon's comments, Wolff said, "The president has tried to put this, this book is about Steve Bannon".

Yeah. And that's not all.

The president already has his hands full trying to discredit that probe, and by association Special Counsel Robert Mueller, even as Trump insists he has no intention of firing him. And when Trump turns on someone, he really TURNS on them!
