Once friends, now foes, thanks to bombshell book — Trump and Bannon

Trump is already complicating the next big Republican goal

Good for him. Now he should kick off a few more noxious passengers whom Bannon brought along - the racists and anti-Semites of the "alt-right" whom Bannon promoted and who are like an albatross around Trump's neck, dragging down his presidency.

Bannon's troubles, however, predated his cooperation with Wolff's controversial book. The New York Times reported that Bannon's departure wasn't exactly voluntary; instead, he was rushed out the door by one of the site's major funders, Rebekah Mercer, who had publicly washed her hands of Bannon last week.

They and other Breitbart News Network LLC board members on Thursday were debating whether to oust Mr. Bannon as chairman, with many supportive of the move, according to a person familiar with the exchanges. Who cares if it's totally accurate, the refrain goes, because it's telling an important story with hugely dire implications.

"He did not engage in some endless b-- access tango". Back in the 1960s, William F. Buckley Jr. and his magazine National Review excommunicated the fringe right of his day - the John Birch Society - from the respectable right.

Moore won the primary but lost to Democrat Doug Jones in December's general election after Moore was accused of sexual misconduct against teenagers.

It remains unclear what Bannon will do next, with recent reports suggesting that he may have been eyeing a presidential run himself in 2020. When he says something untrue, it must be put forward as a deliberate lie.

That picture, said Miller, "is so contrary to reality, to the experience of those who work with him". Shortly after, he deleted the tweet and retweeted with the correct word. Among the writers he championed was Milo Yiannopoulos, who elicited both a rapturous response from Breitbart's readers but heavy criticism elsewhere for columns about lesbians, blacks, and Muslims. He turned in his resignation and is gone, immediately, after pressure from the company's investors and influential Trump backers. Yet, hours after WikiLeaks tweeted the link, "Fire and Fury" remained No. 1 on Amazon's lists of hardcover and ebook bestsellers.

Shockwaves have gone back and forth across the Atlantic ever since. "So the Republican establishment was able to separate the ideas of Trumpism from the vessel of Trump - and they chose Trump". Future historians will scratch their heads to figure out why it took this particular book to break the dam of denial.

For his part, Trump sought to undermine Wolff's credibility by calling into question the author's access to the administration's highest levels. Because Clintonism, centrism, Third Wayism, DLCism are still running the Democratic Party.

And this: "On the bright side, he already looked unemployed".

But given the sheer volume of sloppy mistakes we know about in Wolff's book, it's difficult to take anything in it at face value.

Even before that uproar, there were signs of trouble. As I now step down I leave at a world-class news platform that has come a long way but has really just begun it's mission.
