I am a 'very stable genius' and 'like, very smart — Trump

Steve Bannon

President Trump hit back at suggestions and accusations that he's intellectually and emotionally unfit to be the leader of the United States, tweeting, "my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart".

The author is defending his work despite White House attacks against its credibility. "It's all about him; they say he is a moron; an idiot".

President Donald Trump is "incompetent" and "dishonest" and makes former and disgraced President Richard Nixon "look good", according to the former White House counsel who helped bring the latter commander-in-chief down. Getting him to see that was one of my hopes in becoming a CNN contributor.

Former White House adviser Steve Bannon's public spat with Donald Trump is escalating, suggesting a permanent split between the US president and the strategist who helped put him in the Oval Office.

Trump, however, said on Twitter Thursday night that he "authorized Zero access to White House" for the author and "never spoke to him for book". Jonathan Lemire says Wolff had 'largely unfettered access' to the West Wing compared to other White House reporters.

"I'm here to serve his presidency".

Wolff went on to say that he has recordings of some of those conversations.

The publisher has brought forward release of the book, sending it to shops all over the world yesterday, instead of next Tuesday as planned. I was just going to read the excerpts in magazines and move on. "But it certainly was not off the record".

"In what way?" the host responded.

These remarks play right into the Democrat narrative, especially the remark that the Donald Trump Jr. meeting with Veselnitskaya was "treasonous". Instead, it began sales early.

He lashed out again in a tweet this morning, referring to "this phony book".

The book's most scathing comments about Trump and his family come from Bannon, whom Trump called "sloppy Steve" in his latest tweet. "They had a very short conversation, but he never interviewed the president about the book". They have follow-up orders in with the publisher, but when more books will arrive remains a question mark. The book reached No. 1 on the Amazon best-seller list Wednesday.

Blair dismissed similar claims last year saying the allegations were "so far beyond speculation there isn't a word for it", BBC News reported. "I can assure you we will be getting copies ourselves".
