Neither Trades With Cards Or Giants Have Stanton's Approval — Reports

For several weeks, the Giants had been co-favorites with the Cardinals, and both organizations met with Stanton and his representatives in Los Angeles last week.
Jim Bowden tweeted that he believes the Dodgersand Yankees are the most likely destinations.
Meanwhile, Christian Yelich would provide the Cardinals long-term roster stability thanks to a remarkably team-friendly contract that keeps him under control through 2021. But they can't mortgage the future for instant gratification with Stanton. Not with the Giants having won three World Series championships in the last eight years, while the A's remain a small market team that's stuck in the mud.
It's not exactly vicious, but it still hits pretty hard.
The Giants announced Friday afternoon that they are out of the Giancarlo Stanton chase.
As a rival exec said on Friday, "Don't forget, you'd be taking a guy for 10 years who has a significant history of injuries". Or will he cave at some point and agree to go to St. Louis or San Francisco?
The man is an absolute beast. So, here are some of the likely backup options for the Cards if Stanton decides St. Louis isn't his bag. Possibly. Would the cost be high? Follow our Facebook page to get updates on your news feed!
The will-he, won't-he story of Giancarlo Stanton's offseason continues to be carried by national baseball reporters. The rivalry hasn't lost much steam, if any at all.
Unfortunately, Stanton is also frequently injured.
Premium seat pairs have a die-cut Cardinals logo and matching row number on each end.
The Yankees have luxury tax concerns, and they may also want to make a run at Bryce Harper (or Manny Machado) next offseason.
That doesn't leave anywhere near the room they'd need to take on Stanton's salary unless they could dump Ellsbury's contract on the Marlins. He would fit in St. Louis, but they're not outbidding the Red Sox. Right fielder Aaron Judge hit 52 home runs and finished second to Houston's Jose Altuve in the American League MVP race. "He's got a home there, clearly has some ties to LA, so really it's his call as to ultimately what he wants to do". The Marlins, however, have a lot of incentive to put public pressure on him. The A's win this round. He gets on base. He didn't sign a 13-year deal with the Cardinals or Giants. But the Cardinals themselves are just getting started.
