After years in the gaming wilderness, Capcom announced that the venerable Mega Man franchise will be coming back with Mega Man 11 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch in late 2018.

In Spring 2018, Capcom will bring Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 to the Switch.

The Mega Man X series will be rereleased on current consoles and PC. Koji Oda is directing the game, while Kazuhiro Tsuchiya is producing.

To be honest, it looks a lot like Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9. Further details about "these games" are said to be coming in the next few months. Mega Man's last appearance was in 2014, when he was included as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Additionally, the characters are completely hand-drawn along with the environments.

Based on the trailer, the game has only two major changes from its predecessors, and they both relate to the art style.

"We've had the fans wait foreeeeever, but your wishes have finally taken shape!" Yuji Ishihara, the game's art director, will provide a new look for the latest title.

The good news does not stop there. Sweet music to our ears. On top of all of that, this was a quality release, one filled with classic Mega Man platforming, some new twists, and some bonkers challenges.
