No More Twitter’s Verification Badge On Some Users Removal Process Begins
On Wednesday Twitter went further, actively stripping a number of users of their blue tick status, saying it would remove verification from accounts that do not meet new guidelines.
Ostensibly used for the purposes of showing users that the person they're interacting with is actually said person, the blue tick was often perceived as a symbol of authority or endorsement on the platform.
The verification marks visually signal that the accounts of prominent individuals are authentic and reliable.
Tommy Robinson, the former leader of the far-right English Defence League; Laura Loomer, far-right American political activist and white supremacist Richard Spencer have reported the loss of status. "We will continue to review and take action as we work towards a new program we are proud of", Twitter said in a tweet from its support account.
Twitter said that it reserves the right to remove verification from a user's account at any moment without prior notice, and it also highlighted that removal could be a effect of user behaviour both on and off the platform itself.
The aim of verification is to let people know that an account of public interest is legitimate.
"Twitterbanned right-wing troll Baked Alaska & stripped the verification of multiple white supremacists", Democratic strategist Scott Dworkin tweeted.
Twitter posted a number of reasons why people could have their blue badge removed. The micro-blogging platform has announced the latest move as they are reworking on the entire Twitter verification system. Twitter has started to clamp down on verified users who promote violence or do other things that violate its new policies, starting with known alt-right accounts. The company appears to be notifying the accounts as to why their badges are being removed.
Spencer has brought his provocative message of white nationalism to public universities in recent months, prompting security concerns and even Florida officials to declare a state of emergency over fears of civil unrest.
Twitter revealed that it had found over 200 accounts related to Russian factors/bot network. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey informed that the verification system of the company was broken few days ago.

Google's Pixel 2 XL update should fix the screen burn issues
Waking the phone and swiping the screen takes extra steps, and wake phrases can be unreliable, especially in a noisy environment. It seems Google AI is so good that it can produce nice results without the specific hardware that other phones may require.
