Las Vegas shooting

LAS Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock led a "secret life" and spent DECADES planning his horrific mass murder, cops say.

Some of the weapons may have been converted to fully automatic, according to reports.

At a news conference on Thursday, officials also confirmed Paddock had earlier rented a room in downtown Las Vegas about the same time as a music festival headlined by Lorde. One sister said, "I know that she don't know anything as well, like us".

"She was sent away". She said she was initially pleased when Paddock wired her money in the Philippines to buy a house for her family, but she later worried it was a way to break up with her.

Efforts by federal agencies to cut back on money used to combat terrorism in Las Vegas, outraged local officials, who managed to get some funds restored. Danley returned late Tuesday evening to Los Angeles, where FBI agents interviewed her on Wednesday.

Paddock's girlfriend Marilou Danley was questioned by the FBI on Wednesday and said in a statement she was unaware of the Paddock's plans. Because Barack Obama isn't president anymore, and the NRA doesn't have a boogeyman it can use to scare folks.

'I believe, based on what I have been told, the issue was not that he was under financial stress, ' said Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, the ranking Democrat on the Homeland Security Committee. The FBI is working with Filipino authorities to determine details.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton joined other world leaders - including those from the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico - sharing condolences for victims.

"He's a sick, demented man", Trump said.

Paddock's violent transformation has mystified everyone - his brother, investigators and the families he victimized included.

Paddock was in suite 135 on the 32nd floor of the hotel when he unleashed a hailstorm of bullets. "It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone".

Heather Melton said she knew he probably was gone, but she wanted to hope. "Americans defied death and hatred with love and with courage".

"ISIS, desperate for attention, will claim just about anything these days knowing their supporters won't believe the government or media", Cruickshank added.

Pundits will take to television and argue.

"The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots". The company was cooperating with authorities to answer any questions about him. Paddock bought 33 firearms, mostly rifles, during that 13-month period, authorities said.

'Look at the weapon obtaining, the amounts of Tannerite available - do you think this was accomplished all on his own, face value?' he said.

"The people are hurting and they want to lash out and they are lashing out at the wrong family, wrong people", Geary's daughter said.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo described the attack as the work of a "lone wolf".

The killer also had cameras set up inside and outside the suite.

Paddock is accused of opening fire from a room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino onto a country music festival, killing 59 people and injuring 527 people. One camera looked out the peephole on the suite's door. Among the latest: Charleston Hartfield of Nevada; Stacee Etcheber of California; Christopher Roybal of Colorado; Hannah Ahlers of California; and Jordan McIldoon of British Columbia, Canada. He is believed to have killed himself before officers entered the hotel room, Lombardo said. And even in more liberal-leaning Las Vegas, gun tourism is nearly as ubiquitous as gambling and stage shows.

- Five handguns, two shotguns and a "plethora" of ammunition were found in Paddock's Verdi, Nevada, property, police said.

Danley, an Australian citizen, was born in the Philippines and lived in Mesquite, Nev., with Paddock.

It's unknown how much he wagered, but he apparently had been wagering more than $10,000 a day in some cases. Hickey was uncertain if Campos was armed. During that trip, he highlighted Puerto Rico's relatively low death toll compared with "a real catastrophe like Katrina", when as many as 1,800 people died in 2005 as levees protecting New Orleans broke.

Crime scene tape surrounds the Mandalay Hotel after Paddock's deadly rampage on Oct. 2.

The nurse said she was far from alone.

The latest mass shooting in the United States is also the deadliest.

Lockheed Martin said in a statement that Paddock worked for a predecessor company of theirs for three years starting in 1985.
