More than 20 dead, hundreds injured in Las Vegas shooting

Fifty-eight people were killed and 515 injured when a gunman opened fire on an outdoor music festival on Sunday night from the 32nd floor of an adjacent hotel in the Las Vegas Strip.

The president will be heading to Las Vegas on Wednesday to meet with families of the victims, first responders and law enforcement.

A stash of explosive ammonium nitrate was also found in Paddock's car.

"Heartbroken to awake to a horrific act of violence on the innocent", McRaven said in a tweet. They found at least 23 firearms, including handguns and rifles, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in the room. Some of those images can be seen below.

Mesquite police assisted Vegas cops in securing the suspect's home and assisting in the search, a Mesquite PD spokesman told HuffPost.

This unverified photo was shared by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his Twitter page (because of the graphic nature of the photo, this report will not link directly to the Jones tweet).

It was through his gambling that Paddock reportedly met Ms Danley, when she was working as a hostess at a casino in Reno, Nevada, several years ago.

Police confirmed the gunman was a "lone wolf" who had an unknown motive and was not believed to be connected to any extremist or militant groups.

A floor-by-floor search of the hotel, which has 3,309 rooms and a 135,000-square-foot casino, would have taken considerably longer.

Shares of other Las Vegas resort operators fell in morning trading but by the end of the day Caesars Entertainment, Red Rock Resorts and Boyd Gaming Corp. had rebounded to close virtually unchanged.

The dead in Las Vegas included a nurse, a government employee and an off-duty police officer.

Jason Aldean has canceled three concerts in the wake of the shootings that took place during his performance at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1.

"Nothing. No religious affiliation, no political affiliation, he just hung out", Eric Paddock told CBS.

Danley said she flew back to the United States voluntarily this week to cooperate with authorities and their investigation.

"Our plan is to resume the tour the following week in Tulsa, Oklahoma", Aldeancontinued. These are some of their stories.

'My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight.
