'Padmavati' trailer: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor will leave you awestruck
The three lead characters - Padmavati (Deepika Padukone), Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and Sultan Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) - come alive after their first looks were released recently. The trailer screams of grandness on every scale. The attention to detail is something that Bhansali always takes care of and the characters and the setting of the story look authentic.
The first look of the actors garnered huge appreciation with Deepika's unibrow being a highlight. The answer actually lies in history, it was in 1303, that Alaudidin Khilji attacked Chittor, to capture Rani Padmavati for himself. The release of the film will show the number of times, if at all, Deepika and Ranveer will share the same frame. There are only a few appearances of Shahid Kapoor, who portrays the character of Rajput Raja Maharawal Ratan Singh.
Hours before Ranveer Singh's look was to be unveiled, the poster was shared across social media a little after midnight on Monday. "The movie officials tweeted, "#PadmavatiTrailer arrives today at 13:03".
The movie "Padmavati" will be based on the life of the ruthless Alauddin Khilji and on his attempts to get the handsome Rani Padmini of Chittor. They worked together the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela-Ram Leela which was an adaption of William Shakespeare's Romeo-Juliet.
#Dialogues:Padmavati and Bajirao Mastani, both were period films and hence the language has to have to heavy words. Khilji was enthralled by the real Rani Padmini, who eventually committed jauhar to save her honour.
"This is my look in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavati". However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next release, Padmavati has changed the game and has Deepika Padukone playing the main protagonist with the same name. All eyes are on Ranveer Singh as Ala-ud-din Khijli- the villain who tears off a leg of meat, stands in front of his mirror and wants Padmavati for his harem.
