Las Vegas Shooter Looked at Hotel Rooms in Chicago Overlooking Lollapalooza

More than 400,000 people came out for August's annual Lollapalooza festival in Chicago's historic Grant Park, which featured performances by The Killers, Chance the Rapper, Lorde, Arcade Fire, Justice and Liam Gallagher.

In Chicago, Paddock didn't just research hotel rooms overlooking an outdoor festivals, he booked some.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police still did not know why the additional rooms had been booked, but suggested Paddock may have been doing pre-surveillance for his attack.

The Associated Press reports that authorities have been tracking Paddock's movements prior to the Sunday shooting.

Bookings have been uncovered in Ogden a luxury condo tower that overlooks the Life is attractive festival in Las Vegas from September 22 to 24.

He said he felt it was unlikely Paddock could have pulled off the elaborate plan alone, though investigators have no idea who may have helped him.

Paddock had booked one room starting a few days before Lollapalooza started, and then the second room starting the first day of shows.

This news comes on the heels of a report that Paddock tried to reserve a room in Downtown Las Vegas during the Life is lovely outdoor music festival.

On Sunday, Paddock, 64, had shot into the crowd of a country music concert, killing 59 and wounding over 500. She told investigators that she had no clue what Paddock was planning, her attorney told reporters on Wednesday. "We're aware of the media reports, but because it's an ongoing investigation, I'm not going to speak any more to it than that".

Authorities said that it is unclear whether or not Paddock meant to shoot up those concerts or if he was doing some sort of surveillance of the areas.

"This individual and this attack didn't leave the sort of immediately accessible thumbprints that you find on some mass casualty attacks", McCabe said.
