Hundreds Line up to Donate Blood After Las Vegas Shooting

Las Vegas residents have rushed to donate blood to help victims of the deadliest ever U.S. gun attack, which left at least 50 people dead and more than 400 injured.

The American Red Cross said it is sending at least 250 units to the Las Vegas area in the wake of the mass shooting.

Compassion and generosity were on full display in Las Vegas on Tuesday, following the deadliest mass shooting in modern USA history.

The Las Vegas Police put out an immediate call for help from civilians who were able to give blood.

With so many people injured, blood donors are certainly going to be needed over the coming days, but here in southwest Oklahoma officials say they have "a robust inventory" of donated blood thanks to the local response to Hurricane Harvey.

A blood drive in Bullhead City is scheduled on Friday, Oct. 13, from 9 1 p.m at the Bullhead City-Mohave Valley Association of Realtors Conference Hall, 837 Hancock Road.

The agency said "with the outpouring of support from across the country" it's important people schedule appointments to give blood at this time.

"We are raising funds to assist the victim's of the tragic Las Vegas shooting", the page reads. They are also accepting donations food, blankets, phone chargers etc.

Phippen's son, Travis, was reportedly shot in the arm and remains in the hospital.

From there the fundraiser set new goals, only to exceed them within just hours.

Stories of heroism are emerging in the aftermath of the country's worst mass shooting. "The friendship & support of Canadians is with the victims in Las Vegas & the people of the USA".

The funds from the campaign will support her husband, Bobby, her young children, Bryce and Leah, her parents and brothers, according to the page.

Shares of USA casino operators fell in morning trading on Wall Street, with MGM Resorts International, which owns the Mandalay Bay, down 3.5 percent.
