You win some you lose some. Seeing how her Hand defends her guest, Daenerys immediately respects Jon, a sentiment that apparently is not reciprocated.
He talks about her marriage to Ramsay Bolton and apologizes that she had to go through that in their home.
After allowing the Queen of Thorns to delivering a few choice, if not very complimentary, words of advice to Jaime about his sister Cersei - "She's a disease, I regret my role in spreading it". She refuses to drop her fight with Cersei over what Jon has to say. Man don't give a fuck and I love him for it. In addition to obeying her summons, the former Lord Commander of the Night's Watch had his own reasons to visit the Mother of Dragons: he needed dragonglass (which is available in bulk on Dragonstone) and dragon fire, both of which Daenerys possesses. For now, however, this relationship seems to be going surprisingly well.
There may not be many more characters I'll be sadder to see go from now on than Olenna Tyrell, the Queen of Thorns, because she's been marvellous for five seasons thanks to Dame Diana Rigg's brilliant delivery; a cutting blast of honest machiavellian femininity in a man's world. But perhaps he missed one tiny detail. Meanwhile, Cersei has done things that Olenna didn't think were capable of imagining, and that she's truly a monster.
Away from the tense back and forth, some online found it amusing that Daenerys proclaimed herself to be the "last Targaryen" - an ironic statement since fans found out last season that Snow himself has Targaryen blood. Even when it comes to planning, he first cares to focus on his army's weakness and plan accordingly. There are still lots of revelations to be made such as Jon finding out that his real father is Rhaegar Targaryen, and Dany is his aunt. Their reunion, however, is more focused on joining forces. There is obviously the hint of Targaryen blood in Jon that may make the coupling questionable - for if Jon is indeed Rhargar's son, not only is he related to Dany, he is in fact, her nephew. The Unsullied defeated they Lannister army and realized that it was not the full army. Olenna takes the poison, and then reveals to Jaime that she was the one who poisoned Joffrey (Jack Gleeson).
"Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me", she says with a satisfactory grin, leaving Jaime in shock. The Independent has her "amazing" death speech. So as we grieve for her, and her precious perspective and sinister sass, let's look back on Lady Olenna's best lines. Infact, who knows she may not die after all. Let's hope that the remaining Game of Throne characters, especially the women, learned from her. On the plus side, the silver-tongued Tyrion is back.
Just when Jaime and Myrcella were having a tender moment, the poison has taken effect, and she died in Jaime's arms.
Talking about losers, can we take a moment and sympathise with Sam? She has a plan, you see. Sam is a victor.
