Where will Kirk Cousins play in 2018?
The Pro-Bowl quarterback made $19.95 million under the franchise tag in 2016.
Let's run through the latest on each situation.
Schefter mentioned that Cousins would be willing to still talk with Washington after the season about a long-term deal, but he would be insane not to hit the market.
That $53 million figure is essentially what Cousins would earn in 2017 and 2018 if he were franchise-tagged for a third straight year. After Monday, if no long-term contract is reached, Bell will have no choice but to sign his $12.12 million tender.
The Player: 27-year-old Los Angeles Rams cornerback. That's the deal Cousins is seeking. The Redskins came up $3 million short of that number. That would be a three-year cost of anywhere between $72 million and $79.3 million.
Derek Carr's Raiders extension included $40M in full guarantees and $70M in total guarantees, so Cousins indeed would have had a deal right up there near the top of the quarterback salary hierarchy.
Regardless of now playing this upcoming season under the franchise tag once again, Cousins said in May that he approaches every season the same.
Minutes after the deadline passed, team president Bruce Allen released a statement that revealed the contract the Redskins offered Cousins. Cousins knows how a franchise quarterback is treated in Washington, because he was in Robert Griffin III's draft class, taken two days and 100 picks after RG3. Which brings us to ... And the big question there is I believe the 49ers would love to sign Kirk Cousins in 2018.
Cousins and his teammates will return to the field next week when training camp opens up at the Non Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va. If they do not, the two parties will not be able to reopen negotiations until after the completion of the 2017 season.
The transition tag would allow Washington to match any offer Cousins received from another team. That average is right around $24 million, all of which is guaranteed.
Where things stand: The running-back market is not a huge one in the National Football League, thanks to the wear and tear on the position. Cousins would be unable to negotiate with any other teams.
Pittsburgh placed the franchise tag on Bell in March. The Redskins would then have one week to duplicate the offer he would receive elsewhere.

There was little riding on Sunday night's match as Curacao had been eliminated before the game when El Salvador tied Jamaica . El Tri looked lackluster in the encounter against Jamaica and had very few scoring opportunities throughout the game.

Jimenez is only 20 and has a.271/.351/.490 slash line in High-A with six doubles, two triples and eight homers in 42 games. Going into the All-Star break below.500 in a bad division despite relatively good team health, THAT created the urgency.
