Trump chides Republicans for doing 'very little' to protect him

Report Robert Mueller is broadening Russia investigation to include Trump’s business transactions

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee said on Friday that Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort had agreed to negotiate whether to be interviewed by the panel in its Russian Federation investigation.

White House aides and Kushner's legal team began strategising late last month over how to manage the disclosure of newly discovered emails setting up the June 2016 meeting, according to sources close to Kushner's legal team. Both meetings are termed "interviews" instead of the normal "testimony". They were reportedly seeking to have the interview behind closed doors. One email from publicist Rob Goldstone included a particularly damning sentence that seemed to confirm the Russian government's meddling in the 2016 election - "This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump".

Collins' remarks follow comments Mr. Trump made in an interview with The New York Times about the Russian Federation probe.

Authorities are investigating whether there was any collusion between Trump's team and Russian Federation, though both deny this. Is it possible that Trump (a) knew about this intel, (b) knew it was going to get leaked soon, and (c) was deliberately distancing himself from Sessions before it happened?

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

Manafort and Trump Jr.'s closed-door meeting with Senate Judiciary has not yet been scheduled.

"Two groups are laughing at this excuse for a lost election taking hold, Democrats and Russians", he tweeted. The firm is also involved in the Russian Federation probe. "In a political sphere, I would caution someone to think about pardoning themselves or family members", Paul said.

Mueller in May was appointed special counsel to oversee an independent federal investigation into Russia's attempt to influence the election that the FBI had been running for nearly a full year.

If Mueller is able to untangle Manafort's byzantine finances, he is likely to find business deals and money transfers that skirt legality. However, Mueller's mandate is pretty wide in scope, including matters might be related to collusion or just improper dealings of some sort.

The Constitution's presidential pardon provision does not explicitly ban the president from doing so.

"I understand how hard and frustrating this investigation is for the president".

He then tweeted a reference to reports, met with horror among Democrats, that White House advisers were exploring the possibility of presidential pardons.

"I would strongly advise him not to", Schumer said.

TRUMP: Yeah, he gave some answers that were simple questions and should have been simple answers, but they weren't.

He said that Trump wonders "What are you guys suggesting?" They clearly have an agenda.
