"I'm someone who tends to keep their promises".

"Right now, I think we're moving in the right direction", Rounds said.

"When you're keeping half their taxes and creating insurance superfund, that to most people doesn't look like repeal".

Senate Republicans on Thursday unveiled their revised plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act that now scraps a tax cut for the wealthy, increases subsidies for individual coverage, drops the individual mandate and allows insurers to offer no-frills plans.

The bill is expected to retain some of the 2010 law's taxes to blunt premium costs and roll the dice with Sen. No Republicans voted for it.

Meanwhile, Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy, of Louisiana, and Lindsey Graham, of SC, have put forth an alternative plan in case McConnell's latest proposal stalls.

"I will be very angry about it and a lot of people will be very upset", Trump said. Another adaptation of the bill was to be released Thursday.

The new bill also makes major cuts to Medicaid and overhauls the entire Medicaid system.

This action follows the release of the Better Care Reconciliation Act on June 22, which included numerous reforms contained within the House version passed on May 4, but also presented crucial changes, including a slower phase out of Medicaid expansion and funding cost-sharing exchange plans for 2 years.

The revised bill grew out of the controversy over the Senate's first attempt to repeal the ACA, also known as Obamacare.

"If big-government Republicans (want to spend money), stick it on a bill and work with Democrats, be honest that this is a Democrat idea".

But the new provisions won't matter if the bill can't muster 50 votes.

Some conservatives have already said they won;t support the updated legislation.

No. 3 Senate Republican leader John Thune of South Dakota said, "We've got a long way ahead of us yet".

"There's a great disconnect between conservatives".

On Wednesday, he said there are some changes that would "bring me along", including the consumer freedom option and allowing people to use pretax dollars to pay their premiums using a health savings account.

No matter, what plan Republicans eventually settle on there is no room for error.
