Attorney General Sessions brushes off Trump criticism

"I want to leave that for the President and Attorney General Sessions to talk about themselves". Sessions was the first USA senator to endorse Trump and served as a senior adviser to his campaign.

Meanwhile, the tweet below shows other Team Trump officials repeatedly denying collusion with Russian Federation during the 2016 US presidential campaign. Sessions explicitly denied such conversations during his Senate confirmation hearings. A political relationship "means a close identification with an elected official. arising from service as a principal adviser thereto". According to journalist and former POLITICO magazine editor Garrett Graff, some GOP sources attending the Aspen Security Forum believed the leak may have originated from the Trump administration as a pretext to force Sessions' departure, although there's no publicly available information from which to actually conclude this.

Trump criticized the Times for a 2015 report that he suggests interfered with USA efforts to track down and kill ISIS leader Abu Bkar Al-Baghdadi. What Trump perceives as betrayal is Ethics 101.

Deutsche Bank, which has loaned the Trump Organization family business millions of dollars for real-estate ventures, late last month rejected demands by Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives to provide details of Trump's finances, citing privacy laws. Everything he does and says is created to make Donald Trump look better.

With the Russian Federation investigation continuing to widen, Trump's lawyers are working to corral the probe and question the propriety of the special counsel's work. As The Wall Street Journal says, the president may need Mr. Sessions more than Mr. Sessions needs him. As the Mueller investigation swirls around him, the disclosure that he lied even more than people thought about Russian Federation would seem to bode ill for his job security.

There's also speculation Trump is spoiling to fire Russian Federation investigation special counsel Robert Mueller, and perhaps Sessions and his Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

After it emerged in March that Sessions had, in fact, had at least two conversations with Kislyak during the campaign, he was forced to recuse himself from any current or future Department of Justice investigations into the Trump campaign's ties to Russian Federation. I have the honor of serving as attorney general, it goes beyond any thought I would have ever had for myself. There are very few Republicans in Baltimore, if any. What seems to irk Trump the most is how Sessions had recused himself without telling Trump beforehand.

The senator said Trump removing Mueller would cause Congress to put in place its own special investigation "somehow".
