Weintraub offered few details about DiNardo, who appears to have no criminal record but for a few summary citations, online court records show.

Finally, according to court documents, both Kratz and Dinardo returned to the property on July 8, where Dinardo dug a common grave and buried Finocciaro, Meo and Sturgis in the metal container. Kratz, 20, faces 20 counts, including three of criminal homicide.

Cosmo DiNardo, age 20, owns the sprawling farmland where Pennsylvania authorities were searching for four young men who went missing last week. Patrick's body was found in a separate grave late Thursday.

A drug dealer who Thursday confessed to killing four young men in recent days said he did so because he felt cheated or threatened during drug transactions, according to The Associated Press. Out on bail again, a prosecutor said Friday, Kratz became a killer.

According to detectives, DiNardo, 20, admitted he murdered Dean Finocchiaro, 19, Mark Sturgis, 22, Tom Meo, 21, and Jimi Tar Patrick, 19, then buried the bodies 12 ½ feet deep on the family farm.

Weintraub said the investigation remains open, but he is confident police have the suspects in custody. "I don't know if we can ever answer that question".

"A year later, here we are", Harran said Friday.

DiNardo's lawyer said his client confessed to the murders in exchange for prosecutors agreeing to not seek the death penalty.

The District Attorney says Kratz was there with Dinardo during the deals, and helped him bury the three men's bodies.

The motive for the killings will come out in time, he added. Kratz spoke to investigators on Thursday night.

Lang says Cosmo DiNardo has pleaded guilty to four counts of first degree murder.

On July 7, DiNardo told police he arranged to sell ¼-pound of marijuana to Finocchiaro for $700. He then said he used a backhoe to dig a hole and bury Patrick's body.

On July 7, Dinardo agreed to sell a quarter-pound of marijuana to Finocchiaro, the affidavit states. When they arrived at the DiNardo property on the 6000 block of Lower York Road, Patrick had only $800. The three men drove to DiNardo's family's property, where Kratz shot him in the head. DiNardo also had contact with police more than 30 times since 2011, a law enforcement source told ABC News. Local youths said Mr. DiNardo was known to sell drugs and guns. DiNardo was in custody when investigators apprehended Kratz, who has a pair of pending burglary cases in Philadelphia, at his home. Dinardo told police that he shot Meo in the back, and as Sturgis started to run away, Dinardo shot Sturgis, killing him. DiNardo then continued to shoot at his body after he had died, The Daily Mail said. DiNardo then drove Meo and Sturgis to an adjacent property where Kratz was waiting, according to the court documents. Authorities located the bodies of all four men on a 68-acre property belonging to DiNardo's parents.

On Thursday, his attorney was in Philadelphia court to request a continuance for further investigation in that case.

The charge stems from accusations that DiNardo was caught with a shotgun and ammunition in February despite a prior involuntary commitment to a mental health institution.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub called the search "just really, really rough on everybody involved" due to heat, humidity and the large-scope of the property.

Two cousins facing homicide charges in the disappearances of four missing Pennsylvania men will be held without bail.

Dinardo was arrested on Wednesday and charged with stealing and trying to sell a vehicle owned by one of the men. Kratz was arrested later the same day, authorities said. "We wanted to be supportive and comforting for our community", said Bucks County resident Wyatt McLeod.

Sturgis was last seen leaving his home on Walt Road in Pennsburg, around 6 p.m. Friday to visit his friend, Meo, in Doylestown, Sturgis' father told NBC10.
